A Good Day!

When we got the call Thursday afternoon that our camping trip was canceled this weekend due to high water at the campground, I was very disappointed and couldn't figure how the weekend could turn out very good after that. But, today was just an overall good day. We really enjoyed ourselves and got a few things done to boot.
I guess you could say it really started last night when Jennifer, Nancy and Matthew came over and we all sat in the hot tub and enjoyed each other's company. Nancy is Justin's cousin, and Matthew is her son. Matthew and William are the same age and really enjoy playing together. We all sat in the "bath tub" as Matthew called it and had a good time being together.
This morning, we slept in a little (8:15!!!) and then got up and got ready for the day.
Melanie and Dylan came about noon and Chris followed shortly after. The boys swung and slid on the swing set and jumped in the space walk. They really enjoyed being together, esp since we were all supposed to be together camping anyway! Eddie got the hot tub cleaned out while the boys were playing and filled it back up and got it ready for later on in the day. After Chris got here, we all went down to the creek and walked in the water and played in the sand. It was the first time for the boys to go down on the creek together. They had a BLAST!!! We all really enjoyed ourselves.
The creek was cool and the boys were cold after we got home, so we rinsed them off with the hose and put them in the hot tub. We all got in and enjoyed a little R&R. After we got out and got a few snacks, the boys took a short nap and the adults got to play a little. Eddie and Melanie broke out the Nintendo and played Mario 3. Talk about blast from the past!!! We had so much fun watching them play and reliving a little bit of times gone by.

Over all it was one of the better days we've had in a long time. It's so nice to have good friends that enjoy the same simple pleasure of life that we do. We truly are grateful for Melanie, Chris and Dylan!!

Sorry, no pictures of today... I know, hard to believe. Melanie and I both agreed to put the cameras down and just enjoy our boys today. It was WONDERFUL!!
