William had his first dentist appointment today. I have been meaning to get him in since he turned 3, but just haven't (bad Mommy, I know). I called a few weeks ago and got him an appointment with a pediatric dentist in Baton Rouge. Eddie took him today. He did GREAT!! Eddie said that one of the nurses fell in love with him and wouldn't leave his side while he was in the chair.
He checked out fine. His teeth look good. The enamel on his teeth looks great (some preemies have issues with the enamel being weak). He had no cavities and his broken tooth was not a problem. He chipped one of his front teeth a while back and it has just been wearing and getting smaller. The Dentist took x-rays and said that the tooth is fine and is no where near the nerves. It is very common with kids and that it is nothing to be concerned about.
He came home with a bunch of goodies including a balloon, a basket ball, stickers, a pencil and the normal dentist goodie bag. I would say the experience was a good one!!
