Been a while!!

Wow, it's been a while and we've had A LOT go on!!

First off, we are all doing well. We just got back from vacation and had lots of fun. We went to Hot Springs. More to come on that later.

Next off, we have been experiencing some major changes in our lives lately. Not so much voluntary, but change none the less. The day before Easter, we got the news that due to budget cuts and money shortage, the school that I have taught at for the past 8 years and that William also attends was recommended to the Board to be closed. By the middle of May, the decision was passed and we were officially closing. After many tears and lots of emotions, we are moving forward. All of the employees are still employed in the school system and our children will be bussed into St. Francisville to the bigger schools. I will still be teaching Pre-K and am happy with that. William and I will be at the same school this year. Our new school goes from Early Head Start through 1st grade. It is also the same school that my Mom works at.
William is doing well with the transition. He is excited to be going to his Mawmaw's school (as he calls it), but confused as to why we are having to do it. We are answering his questions as they come and being honest with him throughout it all. I am a little worried about him in the transition, as he does not do well with crowds and the new school is very large. One grade level has more children than our entire school did... However, I am trying to push those fears aside and be very positive about the situation and know that he will do well.

Well, that's a small glimpse into us over the last few months. I have moved my classroom and am getting ready to get the new one together. So much still left to do, but I have a very positive outlook about it. This will be a good thing!!
