Our Life

There is a Phil Vasser song entitled "Don't Miss Your Life".  Part of the lyrics of the chorus say this:
 ...
Then what kind of crazy fool
Lets such precious moments pass
We all know time goes way too fast
Hold on tight ‘cause it don't happen twice
Don't miss your life.

The first time that I heard the song, I was going down the road listening to it as tears rolled down my face.  This song hits home because all that it stands for is the reason Eddie and I do things the way we do, so that we don't miss our life.  I have had comments made that I needed to "get a life" when I told people that William rarely spends the night away from us.  In fact, we very seldom do things that aren't done as a family. We enjoy being around each other and spending time together.  The friends we surround ourselves with have the same values and we love that about them.
We have had many people ask us why we are selling our newly built (3 year old) house and land that we have lived on for the past 11 years.  The simple fact is, the upkeep takes away from our life.  We enjoy going camping and doing other things as a family and having the 14.55 acres of land and a house with wasted space is something we don't necessarily need.  We are trying to simplify our life so that we can spend more time together as a family doing the things we love.  If we don't sell the place, that will be fine and we will gladly stay here.  It is in the good Lord's hands.
I would like to challenge everyone to stop and take a good look at your life and what is important to you right now.  Think about how things can change in the blink of an eye and whether you would regret not spending time with the people you love the most if it was suddenly all gone.  For me, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that my time has been spent with people that I love and enjoying my family.  My family and friends know how much they mean to me and for that I am forever grateful.
Remember, DON'T MISS YOUR LIFE!!
