William went for his 18 month well baby check up on Monday. It went rather well, considering our pediatrician is in a new office and they haven't worked out all of the kinks yet.
My biggest complaint about the new office is the computer in the exam rooms. There is a computer in every room on a lower counter that just beckoned for William to play with it. It was the source of quite the battle for us during the visit.
Dr. Pat is wonderful and has now moved into our family practice clinic in town, which is great!! It's the same clinic we use and so now the whole family goes to the same office.
OK, OK, Here are his stats: 27 lbs even, 32.5 inches long, and 19.5 inch head circum.!! He's quite the big boy! A long ways from his meek beginnings, thank goodness!
He is talking up a storm and starting to put sentences together. He is counting to 3 and can sometimes go up 6. He is starting to feed himself with a fork and spoon and is getting quite good at it!
He is also extremely strong. While he was getting his Hep A shot, he slipped free from my hold (laying across the top of his upper body) and grabbed the syringe. He bent the needle and cut his leg with it as he tried to get it from the NP that was giving him the shot. He flustered her so bad, she was almost shaking! We still had to give him his MMR shot, so we got everyone calmed down and held on even better. This time, we had no problems with him wiggling free, but oh how he tried!! The poor NP was still shaken when we left. I told her that she did nothing wrong. He's extremely strong and crafty. He did it, not her.
Overall, everything is great. Terrible two's are hitting early, but nothing else major to report of. If we can live through the tantrums and bull-headedness of this little boy, we'll make it through anything!!
