Overall Bad Day!

Ok, so yesterday was just an overall bad day. On to of Eddie's schedule being changed, the lights went out for no reason around 4pm for about an hour. William was down for his nap, late, but still down, so I went outside to see my brother and brother-in-law. They were in the shop in the back yard and I went to see what they were doing. After a few minutes, I went to check on William and he was still knocked out. I couldn't have the monitor with me because the lights were out, so that's why I was going in about every 5 minutes or so. I went back out for no more than 5 minutes when I heard a thud in the house. I figured it was him getting out of his bed, so I ran to get him so he wouldn't be looking for me. WELL, I was too late! He had made his way to my room and was sitting in the middle of our bed hysterically crying. I couldn't get to him fast enough!! I grabbed him up and held him tight. I felt like the most horrible Mommy ever. He couldn't have been there long, but it was still an awful thought - him looking through the house and me not being able to find me.
After we got through that and went swimming for a while (it was getting quite hot in the house with no lights), the lights came back on. I gave the house a little while to cool down and we got out of the pool. He was doing much better by then and would let me leave his sight.
I called Eddie to get him to pick up a few things from the grocery store for supper on his way home. He said no problem and he would talk to me later. Well, when he called me back, he was not a happy camper. He had gotten a ticket for careless operation from an IDIOT deputy here in our small town. Him and another cop were sitting in the parking lot of the grocery store, not in parking spots in the middle of the lot. Eddie had to swerve to miss them after turning into the lot. Well, the deputy claims that Eddie was going 22 mph while he was turning into the parking lot. I DON'T THINK SO!! Eddie was in his Suzuki Samurai at the time. If any of you know what this vehicle is, it won't do 22 in a turn without turning over! The cop had quite the attitude and I am very proud of my husband. He kept his cool and took the ticket and went on about his business.
Needless to say, I got on the phone and called my sister as soon as he told me. In case you don't know, my sister's a dispatcher with the same department. I couldn't get her immediately and kept trying. After Eddie got home, he started looking at the ticket more closely. He then realized that the ticket won't hold up anyway. The goober that wrote the ticket put the court date as 6-9-07 at 9am. Please tell me how you can attend court at that time when the ticket was issued on 6-9-07 at 5:45PM! My sister is taking care of it in the morning, but anyway, perfect end to the perfect day!!!
